Working Bee

Coffs Dinghy Sailors - Working BeeKim and Jim - hard at workA busy weekend for the Junior Dinghy Sailing club families this weekend.

On Saturday, all the boats and equipment were hauled out into the harsh light of day. A working party of dedicated club members worked hard to finish off the boat racks that Mike Mills-Thom from the Coffs Outriggers Canoe Club so kindly helped us out with. The racks where painted and wrapped in carpet. Jim & son did a great job of cutting and fixing the wooden boat supports. The shed looked neat as a pin when the team finally finished up in the afternoon.

Sunday was a sailing day as usual but apparently the gusty conditions did not make for a relaxing sail. Although the 505's seemed to be happily howling along on the northside of Mutton Bird.

Jetty Sailing

A great day was had last sunday with many Juniors finding the courage to take a friend or sibling on board and sail the boat on their own. Well done!
Hopefully we get similar conditions this weekend.

Dinghy Sailing is back on every Sunday from 9:45am. We will try to start racing in the afternoons (around 1:30pm)

Check your emails for updates and news. If you are not on the mailing list or having problems check your settings on the mailing list.

See you all Sunday.

Dinghy sailing is a safe activity in which Juniors can develop useful skills such as: decision making; leadership; self responsibility; teamwork and race tactics with social interaction and bonding while enjoying the natural environment in our beautiful harbour.

Junior sailing will occur every Sunday from 11th October throughout summer of 2009, starting at 9.45am (weather permitting).
